Rockin' Around the Gingerbread House

teenietoddlerfilms

Holiday photos can be so stressful! Matching outfits, mini sessions where you have 15 minutes to get your kids to cooperate and smile, and little access to the final edit of images. All of this can make a holiday memory be more work than it is fun.

When I set out to design what my holiday sessions would look like, I knew this was not the route I wanted to take. I didn’t want to force anything, I wanted to capture the memories that parents cherish so much as their children grow. The matching pajamas, baking cookies, decorating the tree, decorating gingerbread houses, and eating all the candy before it actually gets on the house.

Looking to make the photo and film day as little stress as possible, I brought the gingerbread house and the candy to this adorable family. We spent the afternoon running around decorating the gingerbread house to decorating the tree, eating candy and creating and capturing memories.

Pro tip! The Christmas Tree Shop sells pre-built gingerbread houses! Talk about low stress! And! If you don’t have access to that, Viviana, the beautiful mama in this video, delivered the most surprising and genius hack of all, hot glue! Who knew?! Leave it to one crafty mama to have the most clever gingerbread house hack! Definitely follow her on Instagram @making.marinos, because this mama is full of them!

In the end, film days end up being low stress, low pressure, and our teenie ones just get to be goofy and play. It’s these sweet life moments that really create the most special memories. And as always, the teenie movie is delivered with family photos from the day, in their matching pajamas, laughing, full of sugar, playing, and just being kiddos!
