Playing Dress Up

I'm 34 years old, and still love to play dress up! Somehow, I don't think its nearly as cute as when Sienna does with her fashionista mama Dana. These two are about as adorable as they come. Dana has impossibly good taste, and Sienna has a better wardrobe than me! How could I not fall in love with filming this Teenie Toddler Film? From a shoe rack stuffed with Mini Sofia Webster's, to her Chanel mini purse, Sienna is the cutest teenie toddler around.

When all of this started, I went over to visit Dana and Sienna with the intention of capturing photos of their day together. A long time fashion photographer, these two fashionable beauties had been inspiring me via their instagram for quite some time. Dana has always been an inspiration to me. Her taste is impeccable. A product stylist by day, you can only imagine how adorable she made that nursery. Pink flamingos line the walls, mini Sophia Webster's on display, outgrown by a baby girl growing bigger, and even more fashionable.

I knew I wanted to capture video of Sienna picking out her shoes, partially because I needed to see it for myself! How could this adorable toddler be putting together better looks than me! With a grown up matching wardrobe, Dana and Sienna coordinate their looks on a daily basis. And I seriously can't handle how cute it is. At age 1, Sienna is already a little entrepreneur! Her fashion sense has landed her on Sophia Webster's instagram, and she even has her own sunglass line! Sienna's Sunnies! Check them out on instagram. Literally the cutest. @Siennassunnies

This video was a blast to make. Sienna wants to be just like Mommy, and capturing it on film made me realize, I want to be capturing these small moments for families; to be a different type of family photographer. Those teenie moments when our little ones pretend to put on make up, because we put on make up. When they pretend to paint our nails, because we paint our nails. These things feel so teenie, but are part of the bigger picture of our lives, growing up. Growing up isn't made up of just major life events, its all those little moments with mom in the mornings, those moments with dad before bed; bed time stories, walks to the park, days at the zoo. Capturing this video sparked something in me. These moments matter somehow even more. And capturing this teenie moment felt very big.
