The Fall has always been my favorite time of year. The crispness in the air, the changing colors of the world around us, the cool breeze on evening runs, and the spooky nights. I’m sure the majority of it is nostalgic. Halloween was always one of my favorite holidays as a kid. A reason to stay up late and play outside in the dark on a week night; only to end the night dumping the numerous pounds of candy you collected on the floor to examine your haul. Enough candy to last for months and trade with friends. It really doesn’t get much better than that.
As I’ve gotten older, the magic of the Fall hasn’t faded on me. Visiting the local farms, picking apples and pumpkins, trying ciders and wines from wineries, live music in large fields, evening fire pits, the magical late afternoon light, the list could go on forever.
This Fall, I have gotten the chance to relive so much of this season through the eyes of being little again. I’ve gotten to pick apples with picking poles, run through corn fields, ride on hayrides, and run through pumpkin patches. It’s not lost on me that these small Fall moments, make for the biggest memories. And speaking from personal experience, those childhood memories shaped not only how I view this season as an adult, but also the type of parent I want to be for my children.
In this latest Teenie Toddler Film, I visited Dr. Davies farm with the sweetest family. Anyone who lives in Rockland County can attest to how amazing this farm is. Amazing apple cider donuts, huge apple orchards, hayrides, corn mazes and delicious food, it has something for everyone. The light coming through the apple trees on Sunday afternoon was a photographer’s dream. The light was perfect, and the trees were showing off. The end result was a sweet Teenie Film of a family on a picturesque farm, and 50 family portraits delivered that I am so incredibly proud of!
